Registrations

How do I sign up?
Please visit http://www.sstw.org.uk/ride2025 to register for this ride.

How much is it to register?
The registration fee is £150. This is non-refundable.

What jersey/t-shirt sizes are available?
We have jersey sizes ranging from S to XXL.

Is there a minimum age limit?
You must be at least 18 years old to sign up.

Can I transfer or withdraw my entry?
If you are unable to or no longer want to take part, we can look into transferring your entry. The registration fee is non-refundable.

When does registration close?
We have limited spaces available. Once we are approaching them being filled, we will send out a notification of the registration closure date, therefore it is best to sign up as soon as you can.

Can you accommodate people with diabetes or other health conditions?
This is very dependent on your personal circumstances. We can transport medication at ambient temperature if required. For further information please do get in touch for a detailed discussion.

What happens if I am unable to take part before the event begins?
We can work with you to see if someone else is able to take your place.

What type of insurance should I have in place?
You are responsible for ensuring you have sufficient insurance to cover your trip, participation in the event and your bike along with any other valuables. The insurance you may have as part of a product, such as a bank account or home insurance, may not be sufficient, please check the policy wording beforehand.

The Event

Do you have any further information on the ride itself?
A detailed breakdown of the daily route, elevation profile and GPX files will be shared shortly.

What will be the daily start times?
We will look to set off early in the morning to make the most of the cooler half of the day.

Do I have to wear a cycle helmet?
Yes. This is mandatory.

Do I need to be an experienced rider?
Not at all. With sufficient training, beforehand and leading up to the event, this ride is possible by most people.

Will this ride take place on closed roads?
No, but we will attempt to stay in groups to maintain support and increase visibility to other road users.

Do we get a route map?
Yes. This will be shared with all participants but will not necessarily be needed as you will be in groups where the team leads have knowledge on the full route.

What sort of bike do I need?
A road or hybrid bike would be ideal.

How do I transport my bike?
There are a few options for packing your bike. Ideally, would be with the use of a bike box, which can be rented. In terms of airlines, the below are able to transport a bike either within their luggage allowance or for an additional fee:

Can I hire/purchase a bike in India?

Is there return transport to Ahmedabad?
Yes, there will be a group transfer option.

What happens with my luggage?
Everything you need for the duration of the ride will be transported along with you. Anything additional will be sent ahead to Bhuj.

On the ride

How long will it take me to complete?
We will be riding approximately 6-8 hours a day, including breaks, lunch etc.

Are there water stops?
There will be refreshments on the support vehicles as well as scheduled stops.

Are any refreshments provided?
Primarily water. Other drinks will depend on availability locally.

Will energy bars/electrolytes be provided?
No. Due to varying dietary requirements, brand and flavour preferences, it would be best to bring your own supplies.

Are there any toilets on route?
Yes there will be comfort breaks along the route.

What happens if my bike breaks down?
We will have mechanical support with us. Please ensure you bring any spares with you, especially if you have anything that may be custom made or unique to your bike.

What happens if I need to retire from the ride?
You can travel on the support vehicle.

How many miles will we ride a day?
Approximately 65 miles a day.

Fundraising

How do I collect donations?
Please set up your fundraising page on the Make a Change Foundation website.

Can I raise sponsorship using another online provider?
Make a Change is the official online platform for fundraising towards this event and as such should be the only one used.

Can you provide any support or advice on how to fundraise?
Yes. More information to follow.

Is the charity registered for Matched Giving?
Yes it is. Please get in touch for further information.

How much do I need to raise?
Each rider has a target of raising £1500.
